Held every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 15:00-17:00 (timing can be flexibly arranged), this hands-on session at Songtsam Lodge Lijiang combines craft and rhythm. You first paint your own auspicious drum with Naxi-inspired motifs, then learn to play it under guidance, letting the steady beat awaken body and mind. Drumming has long accompanied festivals and ceremony in the Naxi villages around Lijiang, and the shared pulse of the rhythm leaves you energised and grounded. You take your decorated drum home as a keepsake. Minimum 2 participants; book in advance at the front desk.
