Songtsam Lodge Yading

Yading, guarded by the Three Sacred Mountains of Daocheng Yading, is the secret land of Shambhala chanted by Chinese and foreign explorers. The lodge is located in the Daocheng Yading Scenic Area, surrounded by rolling mountains, with the village at an average elevation of about 3,900 meters. Both the architectural style and lifestyle of Yading Village carry rugged and bold Khamba characteristics: the local traditional houses are made of natural stone with black doors and windows, known as 'Black Zang Houses'. Located in the center of the village, Songtsam Lodge Yading develops the classic stone architectural style of Songtsam while paying tribute to local culture through details such as door and window materials and color matching. In the first half of the 20th century, the American explorer Joseph Rock crossed Yading twice and made this isolated pure land known to the world; inspired by this, British writer James Hilton wrote Lost Horizon. The lodge has 34 guest rooms, all located on the second floor of each building and above to ensure quietness and privacy, and each room has a snow mountain view outside the window. The local diet in Yading has distinct pastoral characteristics - yak meat, tsampa and yogurt are common on local tables. Using local materials and restoring local flavor, the lodge's hot pot restaurant prepares yak meat hot pot to soothe the fatigue of high altitude with warm, fragrant broth. The lodge also offers the Horizon Restaurant integrating Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibetan flavors, the Rock-themed cafe combining exotic and local character, and the Songtsam kitchen for quick snacks.
